How You Can Help

You have a role to play in this vital service. ALOFT intentionally relies on volunteers in order to encourage active engagement of residents of all ages in creating elder friendly communities.  

Planned membership fees are modest in order to encourage maximum participation throughout the region.  A defined membership will enable ALOFT to negotiate preferred rates with home maintenance, healthcare and transportation vendors.

Grants and donations are necessary to ensure access to memberships for older residents with modest incomes. Fundraising and entrepreneurial efforts will be necessary to build ALOFT’s programs and to sustain a small staff.

In some programmatic areas such as transportation, ALOFT will pay expenses for volunteers and will make available low cost insurance for volunteers and volunteer drivers. ALOFT will also develop opportunities for life-long learning and encore careers.
